“Balanced and Unbalanced”

Find an example of two free body diagrams, one that is balanced and one that is unbalanced.  For each, describe the forces that are on them and what makes them balanced or unbalanced.

A balanced force is when the net force is equal to ZERO. A unbalanced force is when the net force does not equal to ZERO.

“Free Body Diagrams”

Post a picture or provide a link to a Free Body Diagram you found on line. First, describe what the object is and how it is moving.  Then NAME and DESCRIBE each of the forces that are shown on the diagram.  Make sure your picture is visible once published (or provide a link).

The object is the book and the book has  gravity and normal force. The book has Fg because the book is being push down but the book has Fn as well  because the book is not accelerating downwards.

Friday, November 7-“Vectors & Scalar”

Explain the difference between vector and scalar and find an example of each that we did not cover in class (you can use the internet or pull from your own life)
The difference between vector and scalar is that vector is a quantity that shows direction.
A airplane is vector because it uses direction and acceleration.

Thursday, November 6- “Four Forces”

Describe each of the four types of forces that we did in class in your own words.  For each one, give the description and an example of it in your life

applied force -is when you moves because a person or thing push or pulls something

gravitational force - when two objects are pulled together and one object is earth

normal force - when a surface is being pulled by gravity

tension force -  when a string is pulling an object.

Thu Oct 9 - "GUESS Method" Blog Post

List the 5 steps of the GUESS Method. On each step explain it in your own words and describe what you used to do for this part when doing a written response question.
GUESS
GIVEN- you write down what information the problem gives you
UNKNOWN-what are you missing
EQUAION-write the formula that you will use
SUBSTITUTE- substitute all appropriate information in the equation
SOLVE - you just have to do the math to get your answer

Wed Oct 8 - "Speed & Velocity"

Write your own definition of speed and velocity, highlighting the difference between the two. Describe an example of both average velocity and instantaneous velocity in your own life (not one covered in class)
Speed is a distance traveled in a amount of time. Velocity is speed but with a direction. the difference between both is the one has direction and the other does not.

Wed Sep 24 - "Metric Units" Blog Post

  • Create a blog post titled “Metric Units” - find at least 3 things in your home or your neighborhood that has metric units.  Describe why you think these things are in metric.

I would say that a bottle has metric units because it is measures the amount per serving of calories, total fat, sodium, total carbohydrate, sugar, and protein. I think this is in the metric units because is in measured in grams. I think that a clock is a metric unit because it is counting by seconds which gives you time. I would say that the length and width of the street is in the metric units because it can be measured in millimeter , centimeter, meter, and kilometer.

Tue Sept 30 - “Distance vs. Displacement”

Describe distance and displacement IN YOUR OWN WORDS (do not write the definition). Give at least one example of each that you noticed throughout your day!

Distance is the length that you have moved in total. Displacement is the total length from the started to the end.In school we walk from fourth class to the cafeteria and then back that is displacement because we walk back to the start position.Everyday we walk and we always have a different distance because we walk to different place.

Tue Sep 23 - "Estimating Distances"

  • Create a blog post called “Estimating Distances” - in it, Estimate the length of the front of your house.  Explain if you think this estimate is reasonable or unreasonable and why.
I estimate that the front of my house is about 378 centimeters long. I think that the estimate of the length of the front of my house is reasonable because my foot is 27 cent and the length of the front of my house is but 14 steps so 27 times 14 equals to 378 cents.

Mon Sept 22 Homework - "Distracted Driving"

  • Create a blog post titled "Distracted Driving." In it, explain why you think that distracted driving is bad and describe a time when you were in a car and someone was distracted. What were they distracted by? Did you even notice at the time? How do you feel about it?
  • If you've never been in that situation, then describe what you are most worried that you will do when you become a driver. Why does it worry you?
Distracted driving is dangerous because you and the person in the car with you or the other person in the other car can get hurt or even worst die in the accident.I haven not been in that situation i am worried that i would get distracted by something and hurt someone when i become a diver. It worries me that i can hurt someone when i driver because i can get just distracted  for a second and i can hurt someone by accident.
